Smart Bricks raises $5M to build the AI Infra-Layer for Global Real Estate
February 2026 – Smart Bricks, the infrastructure layer for modern real estate investing has announced its $5 million in pre-seed funding to re-architect how real estate is discovered, underwritten, and transacted.
- Founded by Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree and former consultant at BCG and McKinsey
- Smart Bricks is turning the trillion dollar real estate market into a computable asset class
- The investment will be used to develop the platform further and continue the roll out across Dubai, London, New York, and major US cities
The $5m investment round which Cornerstone VC participated in was led by Andreessen Horowitz, with additional funding from Techstars, 500 Global, South Loop Ventures, Harvard Business School Alumni Angels, Centro Ventures and strategic investment from OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepMind, Airbnb, and Blackstone angels.
Smart Bricks was founded in 2024 by British-Sudanese Mohamed Mohamed, CEO and Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree and former consultant at Boston Consulting Group and McKinsey & Company. Smart Bricks is also an alumnus of leading global accelerator programmes, including a16z Speedrun, Google AI First, Microsoft GrowthX, and NVIDIA Inception
Real estate remains the last trillion-dollar asset class without an AI-native stack. Despite more than 100 million fragmented data sources globally and over 1,000 meaningful variables available to diligence any asset, most investors still rely on two or three data points and broker narratives to make decisions.
Smart Bricks ingests over one million proprietary and public data feeds and applies agentic AI to continuously analyse supply, pricing, liquidity, regulation, and risk across global markets. The platform surfaces the top 0.1% of properties by expected risk-adjusted return, then automates up to 99% of the workflow – from valuation and underwriting through due diligence, negotiation, financing, and post-transaction support.
The result is a single AI-native operating system for global real-estate acquisition and ownership.
The platform is designed for retail and institutional operators deploying capital across markets such as Dubai, London, New York, Miami, and major US cities, who want to outperform competitors by leveraging the most advanced AI capabilities. Rather than acting as a marketplace or broker network, Smart Bricks serves as the AI infrastructure layer for modern real-estate investing.
Investors receive ranked opportunities, real-time intelligence, and execution workflows that mirror the sophistication of leading private-equity and institutional real-estate funds – without the need to assemble in-house AI teams or navigate fragmented intermediaries.
Mohamed Mohamed, Founder and CEO of Smart Bricks, said
“Investors in public markets already expect instant insight, scenario analysis, and AI-driven recommendations,” Mohamed added. “We bring that same level of speed, intelligence, and confidence to global real estate, allowing capital to move with institutional precision across borders.
Institutions have proprietary data, AI underwriting, and integrated execution. Everyone else is effectively flying blind. Smart Bricks closes that gap.
We’re building the intelligence layer that finally allows real estate to operate at the speed, transparency, and scale modern markets demand.”
Edwin Appiah, Partner at Cornerstone VC, said
“Prime property is widely regarded as a safe haven for retail investors and asset managers seeking to protect capital from inflation, geopolitical turmoil, and volatility in equity markets.
Smart Bricks equips private investors of all sizes with the data and insights typically reserved for tier-one real estate funds…
…giving them a decisive edge in making informed investment decisions.
We’re thrilled to back Mohamed in building Smart Bricks and look forward to working closely with the team over the coming years.”
